Fall Cake

This was for a double birthday party. They were very specific about what they wanted: fall, but not Halloween. A scarecrow. Corn stalks. Fall trees. A pumpkin patch. A hayride. A hay bale.

It was a little complicated trying to fit all that into one cake, but I'm really happy with it!

This was my first attempt at basketweave. Once I figured it out, it was fairly simple. Just time consuming.

I loved that I was able to do this entirely without fondant. Fondant is fun, but icing is more fun. And tastes better.
